'The answer is yes. Now, what's the question' might be the best way of summing up Tutill Remembrance Items Ltd''s approach to supplying the funeral profession. From small beginnings in the late 1990s, the firm has become a niche supplier of tastefully-designed urns, keepsake jewellery and supporting products that can make coping with bereavement just that little bit more bearable.

Changes in attitudes towards funerals are also playing their part in the firm's success, as rather than mourning a death, the emphasis starts to shift towards celebrating a life well led. All of which sits well with the symbolism of planting a wild flower seed impregnated paper heart, or watching a water-soluble bio-degradable cremation urn slowly disappear beneath the waves.

"Keepsake jewellery where a small part of a loved one's ashes are placed into a pendant or locket is a case in point. From their introduction five years ago, we have seen a year on year increase in interest, and though we only sell  through the funeral profession, we now regularly get members of the public call us direct for more details on these", says managing director Susan Tutill,

What people appear to like about Tutill Remembrance, is the way that the company is always willing to help find that elusive product or service for a client. "We travel worldwide looking for new products, and even if we do not necessarily have something in our range, we can usually come up with a contact name or a supplier" Susan Tutill explains.

In a sector dominated by tight timescales and the need to have everything right 'first time', Tutill Remembrance's ability to supply from stock is also highly valued. "For instance, a family might go away after the arrangement, and then several days before the funeral decide they want to have one of our condolence books at the crematorium chapel. We can have that item on the funeral director's doorstep by 9.00 next day if needed".

Tutill Remembrance's line now includes wild flower seeds impregnated  paper hearts to share between mourners, finely-crafted cremation urns in spun metal, marble and cloisonné, keepsakes both as miniatures and personal jewellery, plus items such as personal effects pouches, document folders and reserved seat markers. On a more practical note, it can provide funeral directors with special magnetic funeral flag pennants to help keep the cortege together, and black 'funeral' no-parking cones too.
