LPG - It's a Gas

In case you thought that LPG conversions were for treehugging, penny pinching slow driving, woolly jumper wearing motorists with a guilty conscience - along comes Future Power with an LPG conversion package that is ideal for high performance  cars and luxury vehicles.

Future Power's LPG conversion will be exhibiting at Rallyday on Saturday the 22nd September 2007 at Castle Combe race circuit in Wiltshire, with a mouth-watering selection of high performance machinery including a 300 bhp Subaru WRX.

Unlike other LPG conversions the Future Power system is capable of being user programmed to give the optimum performance for the job the vehicle is being asked to do. Just plug in the laptop and dial in the performance you are looking for - make it run lean for economy or richer for performance. With the Future Power LPG conversion you can have your cake and eat it. Drive to the track day economically and up the juice for faster lap times.

The difference in performance between a petrol and an LPG fuelled car are negligible, but the benefits in image and costs are huge. Motorsport and sports cars are never going to be environmentally friendly, but with LPG powering the motor drivers can claim to be greener than most.

LPG  produces fewer greenhouse gases (approximately 20% less CO2) and produces much  half the nitrogen emissions of  petrol and a 10th of a diesel engine. Plus 90% fewer particulate emissions than diesel as shown in the results of tests at Millbrook. Ozone precursors (Volatile Organic Compounds) are 60% less than a petrol engine. In all, the combined air toxins emissions from an LPG engine are as much as 90% less than a petrol or diesel engine. (source BP LPG UK).

Future Power's Managing Director, Malcolm Douglas enthuses about LPG, "This conversion is the first to be truly suitable for high performance cars from sports cars to luxury SUVs. It is now quite possible for the executive and the enthusiast to have their sporty car and also combat critics by running on LPG, making their cars much more environmentally friendly than many alternative petrol or diesel "city" cars."

So by making the dash for gas, an LPG powered race or rally car driver can now use his or her environmental credentials to widen the net of would-be sponsors - not only saving on fuel costs, but with the potential of attracting the funds to make racing less of a financial burden.
