Williamsons Wowed by Binz Vito

Williamson Brothers Funeral Directors, Stoke on Trent, recently took delivery of a Binz UK Mercedes-Benz Vito removal vehicle. This was the first time that Williamson's, who run a Daimler funeral fleet, have made a purchase from Reading-based Binz UK.

The buying decision was made when the firm's existing Vauxhall Vivaro private ambulance had served its time. Graham Williamson was keen to point out that this vehicle had served the firm well and was very much in serviceable condition when the decision was made to purchase the Binz.

"We first saw the Vito at the National Funeral Exhibition in 2009 and were taken then with the standard of both the interior and exterior finish of the vehicle. The Vito has a certain presence, which is important for us as often the family will follow the bearers out to the ambulance as they say farewell to their loved one. The quality of the interior clearly makes an impression at a key point in the bereavement process, because it shows the way we will be paying attention to detail throughout our dealings with that family."

The fit and finish of the Binz Vito may certainly offer a dignified option as a removal vehicle, but Graham Williamson was also very specific about the physical qualities of his vehicle too.

"From the clients' perspective, any manual handling of the deceased is best kept to a minimum, and the rise and fall deck provides a sensitive way of dealing with this issue. Also, in terms of health and safety, we need to consider our employees and the loads that they are asked to cope with; again, the deck design makes this a far more professional operation, and one that puts less of a strain on our employees, whilst helping us to comply with lifting regulations in the workplace."

As a first time client of Binz, Graham Williamson was full of praise for the courtesy and quality of service both during the sale and in terms of after sales. "We have been very satisfied with the Binz service throughout, and the package that we were offered was simply excellent."
