PRESS INFORMATION FROM BINZ UK Professionals Give New Binz The Thumbs Up Five days after the arrival in the UK of the first 'next-generation' production Binz hearses and limousines, the company notched up its first century of viewings, with Twenty eight vehicle orders confirmed at the close of that same week. "The level of interest in the new cars has just been phenomenal. We have even had one funeral director who took time off from his holiday to visit us here at Reading, "says Binz UK CEO Peter Smith. Smith adding that, "What is significant too, is that all the comments we have had from funeral professionals who have now had the chance to look over these vehicles 'in the metal', have been uniformly positive. There has been none of the throwaway 'you could have done this differently' remarks that you so often overhear at a new car launch. All of which goes to show that our policy of actively listening to what people need - whether they operate a Binz or another manufacturer's fleet - and then ensuring that these features are built into each succeeding Binz model we make, is the right one for our customers." Indeed, it is this attention to details that makes these new vehicles so much greater than the sum of their many parts. Such as daytime running lights - soon to be a mandatory requirement - where Binz have specified the optional quad halogen units in preference to Mercedes-Benz' use of strip LEDs, which might be deemed too bright by many UK funeral directors. The company is laying great stress too, on the fact that though the five door hearse and its matching limousine may share the same Mercedes-Benz badges and the Binz branding with their predecessors, virtually nothing has been carried over from the earlier W211-based models. Smith explaining, "Even our trademark rise and fall deck has been completely redesigned. As well as having additional supplementary restraints to comply with health and safety requirements, the entire unit can now slide rearwards on the five door to make handling a coffin much easier. The tailgate is now electrically operated at the touch of the button, and the additional width of the new E-Class platform - together with clever engineering design that maximises the amount of glass over the casket area - has been used to good effect to provide much more room for floral tributes either side of the deck". What has not changed though, is the underlying promise that has underpinned every Binz UK vehicle ever sold: A Certificate of Conformity to provide a guarantee of engineering integrity both at design and in build, and the safety net of full service support through the Mercedes-Benz dealership network, should you ever need it.
