Binz Branch Out

When Liskeard Funeral Directors, Ugalde and Son, decided to expand the firm's fleet with a new Mercedes saloon and a supporting estate car they shopped around. As you do.

After visiting the local Mercedes Benz Dealers Bryan Ugalde thought he'd ask his existing funeral fleet suppliers if they could help. Bryan, who is the 5th generation of the Ugalde family to run the business since 1877, had already been favourably impressed by the way Binz operates. So he was pleasantly surprised to discover that the company could not only supply a matching E320 saloon and estate, but that its offer also managed to be the best price into the bargain.

Bryan Ugalde says, "I was very confident in Binz's customer care and that drew me to ask them about the cars, and when they offered a better package there was no option but to buy from Binz."

Liskeard may be a long way away from Reading, but as Ugalde and Son have proved, once you have a good relationship going with a supplier, it makes sense to explore whether there are synergies to be had in other areas too.

Kevin Smith, sales director for Binz added, "Our core focus remains the Binz hearse, limousine and the Binz Vito private ambulance. However, we are now in a position to supply any Mercedes-Benz vehicle and maintain it, taking advantage of the considerable investment in genuine parts stock levels, technician training and STAR Diagnostic systems, that we need anyway to support our own model range. So funeral directors adding a Mercedes-Benz saloon or estate to their fleet can rely on Binz for continued after sales service to the same high standards as we supply for the Binz extended chassis vehicles."

Bryan Ugalde further commented that the saloon was to be used as an additional car for larger funerals, and the estate would be a back up and double as a hearse for infant funerals. Giving this Cornish firm the versatility it needs, without sacrificing anything in the quality of service it provides.
