Factory gate quality clinches deal for Munn

Rutherglen-based  George S. Munn and Co. Ltd., funeral directors recently took delivery of two Binz hearses and a matching pair of Binz 6-door limousines as replacements for the firm's ageing Vauxhall Omega-based vehicles.

Robin Munn, director, was keen to get his buying decision right - a four car purchase representing a heavy capital investment in the business. The Omega-based vehicles had given good service and the first stop was to look at the Vectra-based replacements but they didn't quite come up to the specification required. Robin went through the options of Saab, Ford and Mercedes and settled on a Mercedes-based fleet. 

Having examined the options there was a noticeable difference between the Binz hearse and limousine and others on the market.

Robin felt that the Binz quality was excellent, with no rough edges, ill-fitting panels or elements of the build that fell short of original Mercedes-Benz factory gate quality standards, and upon which the vehicles are based. The design of the hearse in particular, whose casket deck is framed by a considerable area of glass, provides for magnificent opportunities for the display of floral tributes.

The order was placed after meeting Binz sales executive Patrick Smith at Lumley Castle, Durham. A good relationship with Patrick, the standard of presentation of the vehicles and their immediate availability were the deciding factors in making the commitment. Robin Munn says, "The bottom line is that Binz offers customer satisfaction first time round."

Patrick Smith, for Binz, commented, "Robin Munn's purchase on a Binz fleet vindicates the time and effort that is put into the design and manufacture of the cars; and of course the support service that we provide here at Binz (UK) Ltd."
