Lincoln and Binz Co-operate

Covering a wide arc bounded by the towns of Gainsborough, Newark and Spalding Lincolnshire Co-operative Funeral Service has a 125 year tradition of supporting the local community in its hour of need. To enhance the service offered through its thirteen branches, Lincolnshire Co-operative has recently taken delivery of a Binz Mercedes-Benz based four door hearse and an accompanying six door limousine.

Funeral vehicles have long been seen as a key component of the Co-operative's strategy to stay one step ahead of its competition. But in choosing Binz, corporate responsibility and engineering excellence also played no small part. The close links that exist between Binz and Mercedes-Benz meant that Lincolnshire Co-operative could purchase a fleet whose crash-test worthiness, fuel consumption and exhaust emission data could be verified with reference to individual vehicle Certificates of Conformity. Plus, the Co-operative can sleep easy at nights, secure in the knowledge that warranty and service support is as close as the nearest UK Mercedes-Benz dealership.

Head of Funeral Services David Dernley comments: "We are delighted to be taking possession of our new Binz hearse and limousine. These are the first Binz vehicles to be bought by the Society, and are set to lift the overall caliber of the Society's funeral fleet to a higher plane. Both will doubtless become an instantly-recognisable sight, as they travel in cortege along the long, flat, straight roads of the Co-operative's Lincolnshire heartland.
