PRESS INFORMATION FROM BINZ (UK) LTD. Date: 09.06.06 embargo: immediate FLEET FIGURES ALL ADD UP FOR TEMPEST There are all sorts of reasons for buying a Binz but sometimes the plain and simple fact is that if you want the best, only a Binz will do. Especially if your business development plan demands a radical shift from the make-do-and mend approach of running pre-owned vehicles, towards the potential economies promised by a single marque, all-new fleet. The sort of investment where all the figures have to add up. So when John Tempest of John P Tempest Funeral Service, Leeds was looking for two new hearses and four matching limousines he was looking for the best engineered, the best designed, the best supported product in the market. He wanted vehicles that complied with current and foreseeable future legislation and that provided style, comfort and elegant design. That left him with no choice but Binz. "Our decision to acquire Binz vehicles was based on their total compliance with current and future safety and environmental legislation, passenger comfort and elegance", said John Tempest. Binz UK's custom built hearses and limousines are assembled at Lorch in Germany, in a plant operating to the same quality and engineering standards as the mainstream Mercedes Benz production line, and come with full engineering approval of Mercedes Benz. That means that every vehicle that comes out of the Binz factory is fully compliant with Mercedes Benz specifications and has had its engine management, suspension, steering and brakes finely tuned to accommodate the additional loads and dynamics of the extended chassis and payloads required of the vehicles. Peter Smith, Managing Director of Binz UK said, "We have long realised that there is a real need for a quality product in the funeral fleet market; a product that is technically competent to meet not only current health and safety legislation but any potential developments in corporate liability law. Mercedes has always been at the fore of developing new technology. As an authorised Mercedes Benz coachbuilder Binz is right up there with them accessing those technological developments. No other extended chassis manufacturer has that close relationship with Mercedes Benz and whilst other conversions depend on single vehicle approval or a MoT inspection for certification, the Binz product has full European Type Approval and a 5 Star NCAP test results. When John Tempest selected those buying criteria he could only find Binz as a supplier that met those requirements because we are the only manufacturers working to those standards". Binz extended limousines and hearses are more than a simple stretch, they are technically proficient and professionally designed. The hearse in particular having won an iF award for design in 2006.
