O'Hara opt for silver Binz fleet

Black does not have to be the only colour for hearses and limousines. Nicholas O'Hara, an independent funeral director in Wimborne, on the Dorset and Hampshire borders, has been using a silver fleet for some time to differentiate itself from the competition.

O'Hara's have now taken delivery of a Binz Mercedes-Benz E270 Cdi-based hearse and a matching pair of E220CDi-based Limousines. Interestingly, the contemporary lines of the Binz hearse, together with the design's extensive use of glass to allow light onto the casket deck, were also a factor in O'Hara's decision to purchase.

On a more commercial level, O'Hara consider that there are definite benefits to be had from buying into Mercedes-Benz engineering and quality control standards. Especially when a coachbuilder such as Binz U.K. Ltd. can demonstrate that vehicles built specifically for the British Isles funeral director, are assembled with the same care and attention to detail as that on a mainstream E-Class production line.

Binz's privileged access to Mercedes-Benz components and technology, will give Nicolas O'Hara longer term benefits as regards increased availability, since its new silver fleet is fully supported through any UK Mercedes dealership. This applies from the factory re-calibrated on-board dynamic handling electronics and variable ride-height air suspension, all the way through to air-conditioning systems. The same dealerships will also service any unique to Binz features - such as the hearse's rise and fall casket deck - by dealing with Binz U.K.'s own specialist parts operation in Reading on the operator's behalf.
