COBRA BUILDERS TO GET SOMETHING OLD, AND SOMETHING NEW

Autocraft SVE Ltd., the Salisbury-based automotive performance specialists is bringing its American V8 experience to bear on the Cobra replica market with both built-to-order traditional engine packages, and a complete current-generation 320 BHP quad-cam 'turnkey' package. For builders who may find the thought of installing such a large item on their own a bit daunting, Autocraft SVE will also fit the engine, and if needed, will prepare and submit a car for its Single Vehicle Approval test too.

The company's technicians are already known for their work in restoring original 302 and 427 cubic inch Cobra engines to the exacting standards demanded by classic car owners, where power output is as important as authenticity in preserving the value of these vehicles as investments. Autocraft is now putting these skills at the service of the replica constructor, using its experience of tuning these traditional OHV pushrod V8 designs to deliver their true performance potential under European conditions.

Builders wanting to leap forward a few decades and take advantage of recent automotive technology may also like the idea of the complete Ford Mustang-spec 4.6 V8 quad-cam power train packages, which are available from Autocraft SVE in assembled and ready to fit form. 320 BHP, ECU, Tremec 5-speed transmission, exhaust headers, catalysts, injector rails, throttle body and wiring harness, all for £7,637.50 - including the VAT.

Set up in August 2003, Autocraft SVE Ltd., is a retailer of performance vehicle parts, and UK agent for the Sean Hyland Motorsport range of Ford single and DOHC V6,V8 and Zetec racing engines. The company's workshops are equipped with a 600 BHP rolling road facility, and as well as carrying out race and rally preparation, engine, brake and chassis conversions, Autocraft SVE will undertake one-off automotive projects to customer order.
