PRESS INFORMATION FROM AUTOCRAFT SVE LTD. Release date: 14th January 2004 Embargo: immediate Autocraft SVE: 219 BHP Blown Hondas are something to ponder Autocraft SVE Ltd., Salisbury-based automotive performance specialists, now offer a 219 BHP supercharger conversion for pre 2001 model Honda Civic 5 and 3 door door 1.6 DOHC VTi models. A similar package is also in the pipeline for the same company's Integra coupe. Using a high-efficiency centrifugal supercharger with intercooler, the conversion boosts the power output of these pre-2001 Honda models by over 40 per cent, taking the flywheel horsepower from 158 BHP, to a dynamometer-proven 219 BHP. In PS terms, this is 22 greater than the 200 PS peak of the Civic 2.0 litre i-VTEC Type R, which is delivered at 7400 rpm. Autocraft SVE believe that with further development, up to 250 PS plus horsepower will be possible once boost pressures are raised from the current 5 psi to 9 psi. Both Autocraft SVE Civic 1.6 DOHC VTi and the planned 1.8 Integra conversions are based around the American ProCharger, a centrifugal design with fewer moving parts, and a higher pumping efficiency than conventional lobe-type superchargers. Borrowing from turbo technology, an intercooler is fitted to lower incoming air/fuel charge temperatures and so minimise the risk of detonation. Set up in August 2003, Autocraft SVE Ltd., is a retailer of performance vehicle parts, and UK agent for the Sean Hyland Motorsport range of Ford single and DOHC V6,V8 and Zetec racing engines. The company's workshops are equipped with a 600 BHP rolling road facility, and as well as carrying out race and rally preparation, engine, brake and chassis conversions, Autocraft SVE will undertake one-off automotive projects to customer order. +ENDS Editors, for further information contact: Company: Autocraft SVE Ltd., 01722 411 118 PR: Aardvark Associates, 01308 897 911, press@aardvarkpr.co.uk 300 dpi jpg images and electronic versions of this text available at www.aardvarkpr.co.uk/downloads.htm
