DURATEC TO BREATHE EASY AND RUN COOL

Ford V6 Mondeo and classic front-wheel drive Cougar owners can now gain up to 20 more instant BHP by fitting Autocraft SVE's latest design of exhaust headers. Intended for both the 2.5 and 3.0 liter versions of this twin-DOHC vee power plant, the headers are complemented by a heavy-duty metal impeller water pump just released by the Salisbury-based company.

Manufactured in stainless-steel, each separate bank of tuned-length manifolding is mated to a 'Y' collector pipe with spherical joints for ease of assembly and smoother gas flow. The spherical joints also allow for minor misalignment to suit individual installations, and ensure optimum cylinder head sealing.

Horsepower increases of between 15 to 20 BHP without any other modifications to these engines are claimed by Autocraft SVE for its headers, along with a noticable rise in usable torque.

For higher-output Duratec power plants, the company offers a bolt-in replacement steel rotor water pump, eliminating any chances of the standard plastic impeller failing under competition conditions. Each pump kit comes complete with the correct multi-groove drive belt and sealing gasket.

Available direct from Autocraft SVE, the pumps are priced at £75, with the Duratec V6 exhaust header sets being £395.

Set up in August 2003, Autocraft SVE Ltd., is a retailer of performance vehicle parts, and UK agent for the Sean Hyland Motorsport range of Ford single and DOHC V6,V8 and Zetec racing engines. The company's workshops are equipped with a 600 BHP rolling road facility, and as well as carrying out race and rally preparation, engine, brake and chassis conversions, Autocraft SVE will undertake one-off automotive projects to customer order.
