PRESS INFORMATION FROM AIXAM MEGA Mega Facts Mega is a low environmental-impact utility vehicle designed for short-haul urban and estate transport. Like its low-emission diesel stablemate, the Mega Electric is constructed on an aluminium chassis with extensive use of polycarbonates for body components. Compact and lightweight, the Mega is supplied in 2.98m long chassis form, and is 1.45m wide excluding mirrors. The 12 battery pack electric has a range on full charge of up to 100 Km / 62 miles on flat terrain, and 80 Km / 50 miles on mixed gradient routes. Payloads for van, pick-up or dropside bodied versions run from 415 Kg for the 8 battery option, to 305 Kg for the longer-range 12 battery models. Based on proven technology, the Electric Mega is completely self-contained with its own charger and battery monitoring system. Electronic speed control with on-board fault diagnostics is standard, as is a 3-pin plug and lead for recharge from any 230v 16A mains supply socket, which itself takes between 7 and 8 hours.
